A wisdom tooth is the third and furthest-back molar in the mouth.
Most people have 4 wisdom teeth in total
— 2 in the upper jaw and 2 in the lower jaw.
However, as jawbones have become smaller in
modern times and advances in dental
prosthetics have lowered the rate of molar loss,
there is often not enough space
for wisdom teeth to erupt, leaving them
impacted within the jawbone.

Bite down firmly on the gauze for about 2 to 3 hours,
and swallow any saliva or blood that collects in your mouth.
Even after bleeding has stopped, please avoid using a straw.
Avoid bathing, exercise, alcohol, and smoking after wisdom tooth extraction.
Do not touch the extraction site with your tongue
or irritate it with rough or hard foods.
